LONDON: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz hasprayed for guidance from Almighty Allah for those who are involved inspreading false news about her mother Begum Kulsoon Nawaz’s illness.
Speaking to the Pakistani media outside the Harley Street Clinic here,Maryam said that her mother was on the ventilator and in criticalcondition. She said that doctors were keeping Kulsoom Nawaz on theventilator and were not giving any timeline.
When asked about the social media news about her mother, Maryam Nawazreplied: “May Allah Almighty give guidance to such people.”
Fake news has spread through WhatsApp and social media forums castingdoubts on the treatment of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz. Separately, Nawaz Sharif’seldest son Hussain Nawaz has strongly contradicted media reports that hisailing mother Begum Kulsoom Nawaz has passed away.
Talking to media outside the Harley Street Clinic here, where his motherremains admitted after a cardiac arrest a few days back, he said: “She isstill gravely ill and high-risk patient and on ventilator (life supportingmachine) although she is in better health position and more stable ascompared to the first day when she suffered a cardiac arrest in intensivecare unit (ICU) of the hospital.”
Hussain Nawaz said that due to a clot in her lungs, she suffered a cardiacarrest and was kept in the ICU and under observation. He said that doctorswere present when she collapsed. He said doctors have told them that shewould be kept on ventilator and were in no hurry to remove it.
