The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued the Tourism Promotion andRegional Integration (TPRI) license to a newly launched private airline,North Air to boost tourism in the northern areas of the country.

According to the details issued by CAA, North Air will conduct flightoperations in Gilgit, Skardu, Chitral, and Gwadar.——————————

The routes on which the airline will conduct flight operations initiallyare:

1. Islamabad-Gilgit 2. Islamabad-Skardu 3. Islamabad-Chitral 4. Islamabad-Gwadar

The airline’s head office will be set up at the New Islamabad InternationalAirport

Meanwhile, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) recently initiated directflight operations from Lahore to northern areas as its first flightdeparted to Skardu carrying 153 passengers.——————————

The national air carrier has also announced to conduct two weekly flightsfrom Karachi to Skardu to facilitate tourists and boost tourism.
