ISLAMABAD – Pakistan on Friday conceded 11th consecutive defeat in One DayInternational (ODI) format as Afghanistan crushed green-shirts in warm-upmatch of the ICC World Cup 2019 here at Bristol today.
Batting first, Pakistan was off to a miserable start. At one stage,green-shirts were struggling at 65-3.
But a 107 runs partnership between Malik and Azam saved the day forPakistan. Malik departed on 44 whereas Azam made 112 runs.
Nabi claimed three wickets whereas Zardan and Rashid removed two playersapiece.
Chasing a modest target, Afghanistan were off to a brisk start from thebeginning.
Left-arm opener Zazai hit Pakistani bowlers all-over the ground. He missedhis century by one run.
After his departure, Shahidi took over the reins and kept score-boardticking. He made 74 runs and remained unbeaten.
In the end, Afghanistan crushed Pakistan by three wickets with 2 balls tospare.
