Pakistan to further enhance bilateral ties with Yemen and Qatar

Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood has reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for apeaceful resolution to the conflict in Yemen as per relevant UN SecurityCouncil and OIC resolutions.

He was talking to Deputy Foreign Minister of Yemen Mansour Ali Saeed Bajashin Islamabad today [Thursday].

The Foreign Secretary stressed the need for continued cooperation betweenthe two countries at multilateral forums, including the UN and the OIC.

He conveyed concern at the security situation in Yemen and reiteratedPakistan’s condemnation of terrorist attacks by the Houthi militias.

The Yamani Deputy Foreign Minister while conveying his government’sappreciation for Pakistan’s support expressed confidence that Pak-Yemenrelations would continue to grow.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed binAbdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi also met Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmoodmet in Islamabad.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 48th session of the OICCouncil of Foreign Ministers in Pakistan.

They reviewed the multi-faceted Pakistan-Qatar relations, in addition toexchanging views on regional and international issues.
