ISLAMABAD – Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmad was honoured withSitara-e-Imtiaz on Friday for his contribution to sports, becoming theyoungest Pakistani cricketer to receive the country’s third highest civilaward.
The 30-year-old captain, who made Pakistan win Champions Trophy title, wasbestowed with the award by Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair in Karachi on theeve of the Pakistan Day.
Former captain Younis Khan was also bestowed with the Sitara-e-Imtiazearlier Friday. Misbah ul Haq and Shahid Afridi were also nominated for theprestigious award.
Earlier, Javed Miandad, Inzamam ul Haq, Mohammad Yousuf, and Saeed Ajmalhad received the same award.
Sarfraz Ahmad also took to Twitter and thanked Allah for this achievement.
