LAHORE – Thousands of devotee visited the shrine of Hazrat Shah Hussainpopularly known Madhu Lal Hussain to pay tribute to the great Punjabi Sufisaint on the first day of the three-day Mela Chiraghan (Festival of Lights).
The devotees showered rose petals on the shrine of Shah Hussain and MadhuLal and performed ‘dhamal’ to the beat of drums. Many lit candles as aritual for fulfillment of their wishes and distributed sweets and otherfood items. Fire torching and lighting candles are an integral part of theevent.
The day’s proceedings began with ‘Rasm-i-chadarposhi’ at the shrine.
Stringent security arrangements have been made on the occasion.
