ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan will not getPMLN ticket for the upcoming general elections.
Earlier Ch Nisar had hinted that he would contest elections as anindependent if no party ticket is given to him.
Mr Nisar’s statement against party leadership and his stance against theparty line on the Panama Paper case verdict against former prime ministerNawaz Sharif and criticism against the judiciary indicate that he hasalready lost a ‘sacred’ place in the party.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid, a senior leader of the PML-N, said: “The PML-N willgo to polls with its present narrative and Chaudhry Nisar, who is deadlyagainst the party’s narrative, cannot contest the polls from the partyplatform.”
While hinting that Chaudhry Nisar might not get party ticket in the nextgeneral elections, the former information minister said Mr Nisar was actingagainst the present narrative of the ruling party.
“His fate in the party will be decided by incumbent PML-N president ShahbazSharif,” he added.
