ISLAMABAD- Foreign Office summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P.Singh on Saturday and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by theIndian occupation forces along the Line of Control yesterday at NikialSector and Thurti Narr village resulting in the martyrdom of an innocentcivilian while injuring three others.

The Director General South Asia and SAARC, Dr Mohammad Faisal lodged theprotest with India that continues to indulge in ceasefire violations.

He urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangements,investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct theIndian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintainpeace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.

The Spokesperson said that Indian forces during this year have carried outmore than 400 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and theWorking Boundary, resulting in the martyrdom of 17 innocent civilians andinjuries to 68 others.

He said deliberate targeting of civilian populated areas is deplorable andcontrary to human dignity, international human rights and humanitarian laws.
