ISLAMABAD – Pakistan today successfully conducted training launch of shortrange surface to surface ballistic missile “Nasr” to enhance theoperational efficiency of Army Strategic Forces Command besidesre-validating the desired technical parameters.
This training exercise involved launching of quad salvo for desiredeffects. Nasr is a high precision, shoot and scoot Weapon System with theability of in-flight maneuverability.
This Weapon System has augmented Full Spectrum Deterrence posture remainingwithin the precincts of policy of Credible Minimum Deterrence, againstprevailing and evolving threat spectrum more effectively including enemy’sballistic missile defence and other Air Defence Systems.
The launch was witnessed by General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chairman JointChiefs of Staff Committee, Director General Strategic Plans Division,Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, Chairman NESCOM, senior officersfrom the Army Strategic Forces Command, scientists and engineers ofstrategic organizations.
Chairman JCS Committee appreciated the standard of training and operationalpreparedness of Army Strategic Forces Command. He also congratulated thescientists and engineers on developing this sophisticated Weapon System toenhance Pakistan’s deterrence capability. He expressed his completeconfidence in effective command, control and security of all strategicassets and measures being taken to augment these aspects.
President and Prime Minister of Pakistan and Services Chiefs have alsocongratulated on successful conduct of the training launch.
