According to the officials of the Finance Department, due to an increase in the value of the rupee, there is a possibility of a decrease in the prices of petroleum products.
They said that from October 1st, for the next 15 days, the price of petrol per liter could be reduced by Rs. 11.98, while diesel could become cheaper by up to Rs. 9.17. The price of kerosene could drop by Rs. 5.58. Reduction in crude oil prices at the global level and an increase in the value of the rupee have begun to bear fruit. Sources say that there is a possibility of a reduction of up to Rs. 12 per liter in the prices of petroleum products in the country.
Crude oil became $10.55 cheaper per barrel in the global market over the past 15 days, and the value of the dollar decreased by up to Rs. 10 during the last 15 days.
