ISLAMBAD: Pakistan Software Export Board Managing Director Asim Hussain said Pakistan’s export of Information Technology (IT) and IT- Enabled Services (ITES) has reached over $ 2.0 billion in fiscal year 2014-15.
As per details,
IT sector generated $100 million- one- third of $ 300 million from domestic sales during the fiscal year 2015. “Total revenue of the
IT industry is around $2.5 billion a year at present,” Husain said, which means 88% of
IT industry’s revenue come from exports alone.
PSEB is the institution of government and its function is to promote
IT industries locally and internationally. State Bank of Pakistan had estimated the country exports to be $370 million in fiscal year 2014 however, the PSEF was not sure about the number accuracy.

PSEB Asim said that Pakistan's
IT industry export was less than $ 20 million in 1999-2000 fiscal year but now the country annual exports have increased over $ 2 billion with the annual growth rate of 41%.
It is the achievement of
PSEB that
IT industry is growing fast in export sector of Pakistan.
