ISLAMABAD:Commerce Minister Pervaiz Malik has stressed for increasing the volume of trade with central Asian countries.

He was talking to visiting ministers of central Asian states who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday.

The commerce minister said Pakistan wants to enhance trade with central Asian countries and increase the volume of trade by beefing up mutual ties.

He said the impediments in trade with these countries are to be removed by easing the visa conditions for trade and investment.

Briefing the visiting ministers, Secretary Commerce Ministry Younas Dhaga said Pakistan is increasing land links with Tajikistan and Afghanistan and negotiations are underway to include Tajikistan in Pak-Afghan Transit Trade Agreement.

The federal ministers, diplomats and ministers of states of Central Asian countries are visiting Pakistan to attend the Pakistan Day Parade tomorrow. APP/AFP
