NEW DELHI: Pak High Commission in New Delhi held the flag hoisting ceremony on Pakistan Day.

 

Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit also invited Hurriyat leaders at the occasion.

 

Pakistan High  Commission also organized several events to mark the day and held a reception for Kashmiri Separatist leaders.

 

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted Pakistani Nation following the President Parnab Mukherjee.

 

Modi said “greeting to the people of Pakistan on their national day.”

 

Mukherjee said yesterday in a message on Pakistan’s National Day “India remains committed to peaceful, friendly and cooperative relations with Pakistan. I am of the firm conviction that our cooperation will lead to progress and prosperity in our region. I would like this opportunity to extend my best wishes for good health and well-being.”

 

The Day was also celebrated with a great honour and respect in the country.

 

All three armed forces of the country in addition to police and other forces participated in Islamabad’s Shakarparian Avenue.

 

President of Pakistan, Prime Minister, Chiefs of armed forces of Pakistan, members of federal cabinet, foreign ambassadors and families of martyrs attended the parade ceremony.

 

Pakistan Day is celebrated in the remembrance of Lahore Resolution 1940 that has proved a milestone in the establishment of Pakistan on 14th August 1947.
