ISLAMABAD, Jun 23 (APP): PHF comprehensive plan to promote women hockey
Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Thursday said maximum efforts are being done for the promotion of women hockey in the country.
Talking to APP, Secretary Shahbaz Ahmed Sr said a comprehensive plan is being made for the women hockey development which includes training camps, national tournaments and participation in international tournaments etc.
He said a free hand is given to the Punjab Women Hockey Association (PWHA) to take necessary steps for the promotion of women players.
"We have asked PWHA to make a calendar of women activities including camps, tournaments etc so that the PHF can support them in each and every step for the women game development," he said.
Punjab Women Hockey Association (PWHA) also lauded the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for doing all-out efforts for the promotion of women players in the country.
Secretary PWHA Rahat Khan said PHF is doing maximum efforts for the promotion of women hockey in the country. "A training camp is being organized for the women players in August after a gap of three to four years," she said.
She said that the previous federation was not working on women hockey as compared to the current federation. "The current PHF management wants to promote gender equality in the game," she said.
She said this year the women players will also participate in the Asian qualifying round. "A national championship for women will also be held in Karachi in August," she said.
