Thousands of People attend funeral prayers of martyred youth in Occupied Kashmir

SRINAGAR - In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of martyred youth at different places in Pulwama and Shopian districts.

To accommodate the huge rush of people, multiple funeral prayers were held for Dr Shamsul Haq Mengnoo, Shoaib Ahmed Shah and Amir Sohail Butt in Draggad and Shirmal areas of Shopian and for Syed Rubaan Shah, Sabzar Ahmad Mir and Towseef Ahmad Itoo in Lassipora and Nowpora Payeen areas of Pulwama district. The mourners raised high-pitched anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.

Indian troops during cordon and search operations martyred Dr Shamsul Haq Mengnoo, Shoaib Ahmed Shah and Amir Sohail Butt at Heff Shirmal in Shopian, yesterday, and Syed Rubaan Shah, Sabzar Ahmad Mir and Towseef Ahmad Itoo in Charar-e-Sharif area of Badgam district on Monday.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, telephonically addressing from Srinagar the participants of the funeral of Dr Shamsul Haq asked the Kashmiri people remain steadfast in safeguarding the sacrifices of the martyrs and resisting India’s illegal occupation over Jammu and Kashmir.

The twin districts also observed complete shutdown to mourn the killing of youth. All shops and business establishments remained closed in the twin districts while traffic was off the road.

The occupation authorities deployed Indian police and paramilitary personnel at various places in Pulwama town to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the killings.

Meanwhile, mobile internet services remained suspended on the third consecutive day, today, in parts of Pulwama.
