KARACHI: (APP) Dr Farooq Sattar, central leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan, Tuesday declared that from now onwards the decisions of MQM would be made in Pakistan.
Addressing a crowded press conference here, Dr Farooq Sattar said the MQM was a Pakistan-based political party and its affairs would now be managed from Karachi where its head office was located.
The decisions of the MQM Pakistan would be taken within the country and not in London in future, he added.
Farooq Sattar said,"We have nothing to do with those who had chanted anti-Pakistan slogans yesterday."
He said because of the remarks of Altaf Hussain the party had faced embarrassment in the past on several occasions and the same happened on Monday owing to his objectionable remarks during a speech to the MQM workers from London.
He made it clear that it would be ensured that no such situation was created in future.
Farooq Sattar disassociated himself from the attack on media houses by some party activists on the instigation of Altaf Hussain.
He condemned the attacks and expressed solidarity with the media house owners and workers.
He said the leadership and workers of MQM Pakistan were patriotic and they should have complete freedom to do peaceful political activities.
Patriotism was the very essence of the MQM's manifesto, he reiterated.
MQM leaders Senator Nasreen Jalil, Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain and members of Parliament as well as of the MQM Rabita Committee were also present during the press conference.
