ISLAMABAD – Pakistani young bowling sensation Naseem Shah breaks silenceafter historic record against Sri Lanka.
Naseem Shah got emotional while dedicating his record performance in theKarachi Test to his parents.
Naseem at 16 years and 307 days became the youngest pacer and the secondyoungest bowler to take five wickets in a Test innings as he bowled anexpress spell to finish with 5-31.
Fellow Pakistani and left-arm spinner Nasim-ul-Ghani holds the record andwas just four days younger when he completed the feat against the WestIndies at Georgetown in a 1957-58 series.
While speaking to media in Karachi, the young pacer couldn’t control hisemotions while talking about the tragic demise of his mother when he was ontour in Australia.
“I don’t have words to explain how difficult it was, it is better that Idon’t share those feelings with anyone here,” he said. “I had planned thisbefore my debut that I will dedicate my first five-wicket haul to my motherso that she could see me on TV.”
The 16-year-old also credited the Men in Green’s bowling coach formotivating him after a tough outing in the first innings.
