ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has vehemently condemned the ongoing Israeli militaryoperations in Gaza, terming them a flagrant violation of international lawand humanitarian norms.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, credible reports confirm thatwomen and children are among the hundreds of Palestinians martyred in thelatest wave of airstrikes and ground incursions.
The spokesperson highlighted that the continued bombardment constitutescollective punishment and breaches the principles enshrined in the GenevaConventions.
Pakistan has also strongly deplored Israel’s violation of the Sharmel-Sheikh understandings and other ceasefire agreements, warning that suchactions undermine prospects for regional peace.
The Foreign Office urged the international community, particularly theUnited Nations Security Council, to intervene decisively and enforce animmediate cessation of hostilities.
Islamabad renewed its longstanding call for the establishment of anindependent and viable Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders,with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
