RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa has confirmed deathsentences awarded to 11 hardcore terrorists, who were involved in attackson a school, law-enforcement personnel and a civilian, the military’s mediawing said in a press releaselink.
The death sentences were ratified by Chief of the Army Staff Gen QamarJaved Bajwa, the Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) announced on Friday.The terrorists, who were sentenced to death, ISPR said, were “involved inheinous offences related to terrorism, i.e. attacking Armed Forces/ LawEnforcement Agencies of Pakistan, destruction of educational institutionsand killing of an innocent civilian”.
On the whole, they were involved in killing of 26 persons including acivilian and 25 Armed Forces/Frontier Constabulary/ Police Officials andinjuring 22 others. Arms and explosives were also recovered from theirpossession. These convicts were tried by special military courts. Besides,22 convicts have also been awarded imprisonment.
Those sentenced to death are Anwar Salam s/o Said Nazar; Irfan ul Haq s/oDilbar; Sahib Zada s/o Akbar Zada; Nadir Khan s/o Ahmed; Izat Khan s/oBashreen; Imtiaz Ahmed s/o Taj Muhammad; Ameer Zeb s/o Jahangir; BadshahIraq s/o Muhammad Ishaq; Izhar Ahmed s/o Mukhtiar Ahmed; Akbar Ali s/oShaiber Sahib; Muhammad Imran s/o Aziz Ur Rehman.
