KARACHI – Assistant superintendent of police Suhai Aziz Talpur has beenrecommended for highest civil gallantry award.
Talpur was among the first to rush to the Chinese consulate in Karachi uponreports of gunshots and blasts heard outside the building.
ASP Suhai Aziz led the security operation to foil the terrorist attack onthe Chinese consulate, successfully engaging the suspects on the site.
The first woman ASP from lower Sindh, Suhai Aziz received praise for herbravery from the Sindh chief minister and Inspector General Sindh Police.During his briefing to the Chinese consul general about the incident, CMMurad Ali Shah stood up and hailed her bravery.
“Suhai Aziz, you have set an example of bravery. These are the women whoare ahead of everyone,” he was quoted as saying.A
Following her brave leadership in the security operation, IG Sindh DrKaleem Imam has recommended Suhai Aziz’s name for the prestigiousQuaid-e-Azam Police Medal. She is the first woman police officer in SindhPolice to be recommended for the award.
