Pakistan responds over the Malaysian PM Mahatir Mohammad statement

ISLAMABAD – PAKISTAN foreign office spokesperson while responding to aquestion about Malaysian President Mahathir Mohamed stance on Kashmirdispute, the spokesperson said Pakistan is proud of its Malaysian brothersand sisters.

When asked about Indian water aggression, the spokesperson said Pakistanwill fight its case at an appropriate forum its rights under the IndusWater Treaty were challenged.

To a question about the upcoming Afghan talks in Moscow, the spokespersonsaid Pakistan will attend the talks and it will be represented by theadditional secretary for Afghanistan and the West Asia.

He said Pakistan had participated in the first round of four party talks inBeijing in July this year. He said Pakistan has been part of all effortsand processes to facilitate the peace and reconciliation efforts inAfghanistan. He said Pakistan will continue its efforts as part of sharedresponsibility to make international peace efforts successful inAfghanistan.

To a question, the spokesperson reiterated that affairs of Hong Kong is aninternal matter of China. He said Pakistan is committed to one Chinapolicy. He said Pakistan believes the measures taken by China and Hong Kongare aimed at safeguarding national sovereignty and Hong Kong’s stabilityand prosperity.
