LAHORE: *JUI – F Chief Fazalur Rahman faces the worst setback as a allianceof over two dozens religious Sunni parties, *Madaris Deenia andTanzeemat-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat on Tuesday decided against joining JamiatUlema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) Chief Fazal-ur-Rehman’s Azadi March, mediareported.
Chairman Sunni Ittehad Council, Sahibzada Hamid Raza announced about thisdecision in a press conference in Lahore.
“Azadi March is against national security and no member registered with ourfranchises will become part of it,” he said.
In the previous week, Jamia Binoria Aalimiyah chief Mufti Muhammad Naeemalso said that they will not join the march.
“Seminaries’ students should not be used for one’s own political benefits,”He said.
He assured the two-member delegation comprising Federal Minister forReligious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri and Minister for Maritime Affairs AliHaider Zaidi of not becoming part of Azadi March.
On October 14, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman telephoned Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan(JI) leader Liaquat Baloch to discuss the Azadi March and sought hissupport but Baloch apologised to extend any kind of support.
