In Karachi, a nine-member committee has been established with the aim ofrestructuring the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), as reported byARY News on Saturday.
A notification has been issued appointing Shazia Rizvi, the Joint SecretaryII of the Ministry of Aviation, as the chairperson of this committee. Thenotification also designates Vice Air Marshal Taimoor Iqbal as the deputychairperson. Other committee members include Asif Iqbal (Joint Secretary,Ministry of Aviation), Abdul Malik (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance),Nadir Shafiq (Deputy Director General, Regulatory CAA), Commodore MirzaAamir (President, Aircraft Accident Investigation Board), Saqib Butt(Director Finance, CAA), Sameer Saeed (Director, Aviation Security),Sadiqul Rahman (Director, APS), and Abid Ali Shah (Director HR, CAA). Thecommittee has been tasked with completing its work by October 15.
According to the notification, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)will undergo division into two entities: the Pakistan Airport Authority andthe Bureau of Air Safety Investigation.
This committee will oversee the transfer of existing assets, funds,employees, records, offices, and furniture to these two organizations.Additionally, the committee will have the authority to distributemachinery, vehicles, and funds.
