The IHC registrar has released the list of cases for next week, whichincludes Imran Khan’s bail request. Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the IHCwill preside over the case, and the court has requested arguments from theFederal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Additionally, the IHC had previously reserved its decision regarding ImranKhan’s transfer request from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail but has now set are-hearing for September 25, with CJ Aamer presiding. The court hadreserved its verdict after arguments and is now scheduling furtherclarification on certain legal points. Previously, a special court handlingOfficial Secret Act cases had rejected Imran’s bail application.

In his plea, Imran Khan claimed that the case against him was malicious andfabricated, criticizing the special court’s handling of the prosecution’sirregularities and contradictions.

The special court judge had stated that there was irrefutable evidenceconnecting Imran Khan and PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi to the cyphercase. The court order indicated reasonable grounds for believing that theywere guilty under sections 5 and 9 of the Official Secrets Act.

This case stems from an incident in March 2022 when Imran Khan displayed adiplomatic cypher at a public gathering, alleging an internationalconspiracy against his government.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) began investigating the”cypher-gate” on July 19 of that year, leading to the arrest of Qureshi inAugust. Imran Khan was also arrested following an interrogation on August26.
