On Saturday, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab announced theapprehension of 13 suspected terrorists linked to banned organizations invarious areas of Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Sheikhupura, andJhelum.
The detained individuals were found in possession of explosive materials,grenades. CTD officials have initiated an investigation into the matter,and cases have been filed against the arrested suspects. In a proactiveeffort to maintain law and order, 105 individuals were taken into custodyduring 625 combing operations in Punjab last week.
Notably, on September 21, the CTD apprehended Nasrullah, a wanted commanderof the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in Karachi, recoveringarms from his possession.
According to CTD in-charge Khurram Waris, Nasrullah faced charges relatedto terror financing, terrorism, and providing shelter and medicalassistance to fellow militants in Karachi’s Kuwari Colony.
