China strongly rejects media reports over controversial talks between Chinese envoy and Pakistan minister

ISLAMABAD – Chinese has categorically rejected baseless propaganda over themeeting of Pakistan religious minister and Chinese Ambassador in Islamabad.

The distorted reports of some local and international mediainconnection with the courtesy meeting held between China Ambassador toPakistan Yao Jing and Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith HarmonyDr Noor-ul-Haq Qadri last week is rejected by Chinese embassy.

‘Pakistan has demanded China to soften restrictions on Chinese Muslimsliving in Xinjiang province,’ some media outlets claimed.

According to a press release issued by Chinese Embassy here on Sunday, theXinjiang Autonomous Region of China enjoys social stability, sound economicdevelopment and harmonious coexistence among ethnic groups.

Some measures are taken against separatism and terrorism for the sake ofsafeguarding China’s national security and protecting people’s life andproperty.
