Pakistan has reiterated its grave concerns about India’s illegaldemographic engineering of the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and itswidely documented grave human rights impacts during the last three years.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN offices in Geneva, KhalilHashmi met the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, and briefed her about the unfolding human rights crisis in Indian IllegallyOccupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Terming the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as a human rightsflashpoint, the Pakistani envoy drew the High Commissioner’s attentiontowards India’s unabated, gross violations of Kashmiri people’s basicpolitical, civil, economic, social and cultural rights, especially theirinalienable right to self-determination.
He regretted that there is a clear pattern of Indian impunity for humanrights abuses, aided by conspicuous silence of powerful states.
