ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) formed on Mondaya four-member medical board to check the health of former prime ministerNawaz Sharif who is currently in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail for corruption.
The medical board along with a mobile laboratory has reached the AdialaJail.
Dr Aijaz Qadeer is chairman of the medical board which comprises PIMS Headof Cardiology Dr Naeem Malik, Medical Specialist Dr Shajee Siddiqui, DrSohail Tanvir and Dr Mashood.
Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif has been shifted from his cell to the hospitalfacility in the prison for check-up.
According to the sources, the caretaker government wants the medical boardto re-examine Major General (retired) Dr Azhar Mehmood Kayani’s, head ofRawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC), report on Nawaz’s health.
Kayani conducted the first check-up of the former prime minister on lateSunday night.
The sources further stated, “Nawaz wants to be shifted to RIC but thegovernment wants to shift him to PIMS,” adding that the PIMS’ VIP ward isbeing prepared for Nawaz Sharif.
Earlier, on July 22, it was reported that Nawaz was experiencing numerousmedical issues due to dehydration.
