ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar onMonday sought Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice’s opinion overJustice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s controversial statement.
In a statement issued by the Supreme Court on Monday, the CJP while takingsuo motu notice of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s controversial statementsought opinion of IHC CJ.
The communiqué stated that the transcript of Justice Shaukat AzizSiddiqui’s controversial speech has been received by the apex court.
“Justice Siddiqui defamed his superiors, national institutions and alsoleveled allegations of IHC CHJ in his controversial speech,” communiquéadded.
It stated that Justice Saqib Nisar also directed IHC CJ to obtain evidenceof Justice Shaukat’s allegations and asked him to send his opinion andevidence to the top court.
Earlier, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said that Pakistan will be blessed untilthe powerful judiciary is present and justice will be delivered to everyone.
Giving his remarks while hearing a petition pertaining to suo motu noticeagainst Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, theCJP said that justice will be delivered to Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui,adding that injustice would not be done to anyone.
