Former Skipper Shahid Afridi has an advice for revamping Pakistan Cricket

ISLAMABAD: Former Skipper Shahid Afridi has advised the Pakistan CricketBoard (PCB) to utilize the services of ex-cricketers Younis Khan, MohammadYousuf and Abdul Razzaq for the under-19 team in order to bring the talentto fore.

Citing India’s example, he said former robust batsman Rahul Dravid has beenassigned with the Indian Under-19 side.

Afridi, who took 48 Test wickets and over 350 in ODIs, said Younis, Yousufand Razzaq understands today’s modern cricket very well therefore can provevery useful for the u19 side.

“Skill development programmes must bhe taught to players in the academiesavailable in Pakistan,” he said and added that a player without skillscannot survive in the team.

Afridi, who announced his retirement from international cricket on February19, 2017, said Pakistan team is suffering with the same old problems likepoor fitness and below-par fielding. “Good batsmen provide lesser chancesof catches and we drop them,” he said while talking to Shoaib Akhtar on hisYouTube channel.

Afridi, however, lauded the Pakistani players saying this is the best wehave got. “Babar Azam has been very consistent in his performance and Iwant him to become an even bigger player like Virat Kohli, Kane Williamsonand Steve Smith,” he said and added that Babar must prolong his runsaccordingly like the Indian players.
