*LONDON: Hussain Nawaz has contradicted the media reports that his ailingmother Begum Kulsoom Nawaz has passed away.*
According to state-run wire service APP, Hussain said “She is still gravelyill and risky patient and on ventilator (life supporting machine) althoughshe is in better health position and more stable as compared to the firstday when she suffered a cardiac arrest in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of thehospital”.
He was talking to Pakistani media outside the Harley Street Clinic, wherehis mother was admitted after a cardiac arrest, a few days back.
He said that his mother was more stable as compared to the first day ofadmission in the hospital a few days back.
Hussain Nawaz said that due to a clot in her lungs, she suffered a cardiacarrest and was kept in the ICU and under observation.
He said that doctors have told them that she would be kept on theventilator and no hurry in removing it.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in his brief remarks outside thehospital earlier said that health condition of his spouse Begum KulsoomNawaz was still critical and sought prayers of the nation for her goodhealth.
On Friday a number of PML-N leaders including former Foreign MinisterKhawaja Muhammad Asif and Nihal Hashmi visited the Harley Street hospitalto inquire about the health of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
Nihal Hashmi said that Begum Kulsoom Nawaz had rendered great sacrificesfor the cause of democracy against dictatorship in Pakistan.
