Saudi Arabia government announced Eid ul Fitr 2020

ISLAMABAD – Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia and acrossMiddle East on Sunday, May 24. As Shawwal 1441 AH moon has not Sighted.

According to the statement issued, the 30th fast will be observed in SaudiArabia tomorrow, Saturday, while Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Sunday,May 24.

Earlier, the astronomical center of Saudi ArabialinkAl-Majma’ahUniversity had said that it was not possible to see the Eid-ul-Fitr moon onFriday.

Eid-ul-Fitr holidays in Saudi Arabia will start on Thursday 21st Ramadan1441 AH after completing duty and offices will be reopen from Sunday 8thShawwal. The Ministry of Manpower had informed about the Eid-ul-Fitrholidays related to private companies that they will have 4 days ofEid-ul-Fitr holidays which will start after completing the duty of 29Ramadan.

It is to be noted that the Saudi Arabia government has announced a 24-hourcurfew during Eid-ul-Fitr days across the country in view of the increasingcases of Coronavirus. The Saudi Arabia government has extended a partialcurfew in the kingdom until May 22. According to a statement issued by theInterior Ministry, citizens of different areas, including Makkah, will begiven conditional permission to leave their homes from 9 am to 5 pm.

Interior Ministry of Saudi Arabia stated that complete curfew will beimposed across the country from May 23 (the 30th fast) to May 27, duringwhich no citizen will be allowed to leave the house.
