ISLAMABAD – PTI government Tax Amnesty Scheme turning out to be a failureas So far as not even a single casee has surfaced in one week out of totalsix weeks.
Despite the passage of a week after the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insafgovernment announced its first tax amnesty scheme – for whitening ofundisclosed expenditures, sales and assets, including foreign assets, atnominal tax rates – the required form to avail the scheme’s benefits couldnot be prepared.
Hence, no person has taken any benefit from the scheme yet, while one weekfrom the total six weeks of the scheme has passed.
According to sources, officials of the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) havealso been awaiting for the form.
