ISLAMABAD, (APP): FBR to achieve revenue target of Rs 3104 bn
FBR Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan Sunday said that due to concerted efforts of the whole FBR team and continued encouragement by the Finance Minister, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) was is well on course to achieve the revenue collection target of Rs 3104 billion for the current fiscal year.
He said this in a meeting here chaired by Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Division Haroon Akhtar Khan was also present on the occasion.
The meeting was informed that in line with the Finance Minister’s instructions, the FBR officials after holding meetings with different stakeholders including traders organizations, chambers of commerce and industries, professionals and experts, had formulated proposals for the budget 2016-17.
The FBR Chairman said useful inputs were sought from the stakeholders and thoroughly perused for formulating these proposals.
The Finance Minister expressed satisfaction over the exercise carried out by the FBR.
He said this spirit of work should be kept up and efforts made for continued growth in revenue which is key component of the overall inclusive growth strategy. He said that the forthcoming budget must reflect FBR’s resolve to provide maximum facilitation to the tax payers.
Senior officials of the Finance Division and FBR attended the meeting.
