ISLAMABAD – Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikhhas directed FBR to modify and refine the Asset Declaration Scheme makingit more attractive and persuasive.
Chairing a meeting to review the Scheme, he said such scheme will enable tobecome a part of it as maximum people are currently outside the formaleconomy.
He also directed to devise a successful communication strategy enabling thepeople to easily comprehend the contours of the scheme.
The meeting deliberated upon various aspects of the scheme and emphasizedthe need to make it more simple and implementable.

The participants gave their inputs and suggested that since the focus ofproposed scheme is on documentation of economy, it should be designed toclearly reflect that objective.
The meeting was also attended by Adviser to Prime Minister on CommerceAbdul Razak Dawood, Adviser on Institutional Reforms and Austerity, Dr.Ishrat Hussain, Minister of State for Revenue, Muhammad Hammad Azhar,Chairman, FBR and experts of business, accounting and banking sectors.
