TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that Iran is interestedin increasing exports of electricity, oil, and gas to Pakistan.
He further revealed that both countries have agreed on the establishment ofa Barter Committee to exchange goods. This will ensure the import andexport balance as well.
During Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Tehran, the Iranian presidentsaid that the cooperation between Gwadar and Chabahar port can be increased.
The president said that Iran is ready to increase electricity exports toPakistan by ten-fold. It can meet Pakistan’s oil and gas demands as well.——————————
He said that they can facilitate the construction of a railroad linkingIstanbul to Islamabad. Rouhani underlined that no third country can harmthe brotherly relations of Pakistan and Iran.
On the occasion, PM Imran Khan said that his visit to Tehran is aimed atincreasing trade and cooperation in energy and other areas.
During the joint press conference, Khan said, “Pakistan is after finding amechanism to enhance economic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran,especially in the oil and gas sector.”
