NEW DELHI – The Indian Supreme Court has issued contempt of court notice toCongress president Rahul Gandhi telling him to respond to the contemptpetition for attributing remarks to the top court in the Rafale case.
The notice was issued after a request from Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer who urgedthe judges to close the contempt case against him after his explanationyesterday.
Rahul Gandhi told the Supreme Court that he had made the statement in theheat of political campaigning and his statement unfortunately gotjuxtaposed and mingled with a political slogan.
The BJP demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi and called him a liar of thefirst order in public opinion.
