ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday said thatPakistan and Sri Lanka want peace in the region.
He said this in his meeting with Sri Lanka Army Chief Leutinent GeneralMahesh Senanayake who called on him who called on him at Prime Minister’sOffice on Monday.
The prime minister called for a greater cooperation and sharing ofexpertise in the field of defence between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
PM Abbasi further expressed satisfaction over security cooperation betweenthe two countries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Sri Lankan army chief said that appreciatedthe huge sacrifices of the Pakistani nation and armed forces in the fightagainst terrorism.
Lt Gen Mahesh Senanayake said that Sri Lanka was keen to further strengthenits ties with Pakistan in the areas of security and defence.
