*The Indian Ocean countries are to hold a joint military exercise, Chief ofStaff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri said hereat the 6th Indian Ocean Naval Symposium on Monday*, IRNA has reported.
‘In the two-year period, the necessary meetings and conferences will beheld to enhance the security in the Indian Ocean,’ said General Baqeri.
‘Coordination between the countries of the Indian Ocean region can resultin better security; the countries of the region shouldn’t allow domineeringpowers in the world to take up the responsibility of the security in theregion,’ said General Baqeri.

Elsewhere his speech, General Baqeri said that Iran, relying on itscapability, has extended brotherly hand to its neighbors.
The US and certain powers are creating and spreading disorder bydispatching military forces to different parts of the world, the topcommander said, adding Washington through its support for the terroristgroup of Daesh (ISIS) has created crisis in big parts of West Asia andprepared the ground for massacre and displacement of people.
By sending weapons to the regional countries including Saudi Arabia, the USis trying to pave the way for the start of a war, Baqeri stressed.
Baqeri said any changes in the Indian Ocean security condition will havedirect impact on security in different parts of the world.
The Iranian Armed Forces as pioneer in counter-terrorism moves are ready toshare experiences with other countries, he said.
Iran’s Navy has dispatched 51 flotillas to the Indian Ocean to fightpirates and ensure security in the [international] waters, the topcommander said.
He added the presence of the big powers’ military forces and theirinterference in the regional affairs is the cause of insecurity in theregion an example of which is the bombardment of the Yemeni people.
