NEW YORK – Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations DrMaleeha Lodhi has renewed Pakistan’s resolve to continue extendingcooperation for global peace and stability.
Speaking at an event organised in connection with Pakistan Day at PakistanMission to United Nations in New York, she said the country was on the pathto progress and prosperity under a new leadership.
Lodhi said Pakistan will continue to support efforts for internationalpeace and stability.
A cake was also cut on the occasion to mark the day.
The nation is celebrating Pakistan Day on Saturday across the country withtraditional zeal and fervor.
Pakistan Day marks the passing of the Lahore Resolution on March 23, 1940,when Muslims of the Subcontinent demanded the establishment of a separatehomeland to safeguard their rights.
