Indian Police arrests Kashmiri leader from outside Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi

NEW DELHI – Delhi Police arrested Kashmiri human rights activist MohammedAhsan Untoo when he was about to enter the Pakistan High Commission onFriday, officials said.

Untoo, who runs International Forum of Justice and Human Rights, wasinvited among others, including separatist leaders, from the militancy-hitJammu and Kashmir by the High Commission to attend an event to markPakistan’s National Day.

Separatists from the state, including moderate Hurriyat Conferencechairperson Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and others, have been barred from thefunction for the last three years.

Pakistan Day is celebrated to mark the Lahore Resolution on March 23 eachyear.
