ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) willconduct a one-day mobile registration operation across select locations inthe United Kingdom on January 24, 2026, offering vital identity-relatedservices to overseas Pakistanis at community-based venues. This outreacheffort targets residents in the Birmingham and Bradford regions, allowingapplicants to handle documentation without undertaking extensive journeysto distant centres. NADRA emphasised that the mobile team deployment formspart of its broader strategy to improve service delivery for the Pakistanidiaspora, ensuring timely access to official records essential for travel, banking, property matters, and other administrative requirements.
The operation will cover two specific sites on the designated date. InBurton upon Trent, linked to the Birmingham region, services will operatefrom 10:00am to 3:00pm at Jamia Hanfia Ghosia Mosque, located at 24Princess Street, Burton upon Trent (DE14 2NW). This venue, situated withina prominent community and religious hub, is expected to attract applicantsfrom surrounding areas where Pakistani expatriates form a significantportion of the population. Similarly, in Doncaster, associated with theBradford region, the mobile team will function during the same hours at 26AThoresby Avenue, Doncaster (DN0 580), providing localised support forresidents in northern England.
Applicants during the drive can avail a comprehensive range of servicestailored to common needs of overseas Pakistanis. These include applicationsfor new National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), Smart NICOP(SNICOP), modifications, renewals, reprints, cancellations of NICOP,issuance of Family Registration Certificates (FRC), duplicate clearances, and National Registration Certificates (NRC). Such services are critical asNICOP serves as the primary identity document for Pakistanis living abroad, facilitating visa processes, remittances, inheritance claims, and return toPakistan without complications.
NADRA’s decision to deploy mobile units reflects ongoing efforts to bridgegeographical barriers for its international community. With millions ofPakistanis residing in the United Kingdom, many concentrated in industrialand urban centres like Birmingham and Bradford, traditional access to NADRAservices often involves significant time and expense. By bringingregistration facilities to mosques and community addresses, the authorityaims to increase participation rates and reduce backlogs at permanentfacilitation points. Officials noted that previous similar drives havesuccessfully served thousands, demonstrating the effectiveness of thisdecentralised approach in remote or underserved expatriate clusters.
The initiative aligns with NADRA’s broader digital and outreachtransformation, which includes expanding mega centres domestically andmobile vans globally. In recent years, the authority has prioritisedoverseas operations to support remittances, which contribute substantiallyto Pakistan’s economy, and to maintain accurate national databases forvoting, census, and social welfare programmes. Community leaders in the UKhave welcomed the announcement, highlighting how such conveniencesstrengthen ties between expatriates and their homeland while addressingpractical hardships faced by families managing dual lives.
Participants are advised to bring original documents, copies, photographs, and any required fees as per standard NADRA guidelines to ensure smoothprocessing. Advance preparation is recommended to avoid delays during thelimited operational window. NADRA encouraged eligible individuals to takeadvantage of this opportunity, stating in its official communication thatit looks forward to serving the community at their convenience andfostering greater accessibility.
This mobile registration event represents a proactive step in NADRA’smandate to provide inclusive, citizen-centric services beyond borders. Asoverseas Pakistanis continue to play a pivotal role in national developmentthrough economic contributions and cultural linkages, initiatives likethese reinforce institutional support for their administrative needs.
