ISLAMABAD – The leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-islam-Sami (JUI-S) MaulanaHamidullah Haq has urged the Taliban group to show flexibility in inclusionof Afghan government in peace talks.
In his speech during a gathering on Monday, Maulana Hamidul Haq said thattalks were the only solution to restore peace to the war-torn country,according to the local media reports.
This comes as efforts are underway to start direct talks between the Afghangovernment and Taliban group in a bid to end the 17-year-long war andviolence in the country.
Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman, the President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal hadearlier promised to support an Afghan-led peace process to end the violencein Afghanistan.
He made the commitment during a meeting with Mohammad Umer Daudzai, theSecretariat Chief of the Afghan High Peace Council and Senior PresidentialEnvoy for Regional Consensus for Reconciliation earlier this month.
