The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to challenge the Election Commission's announcement. The committee members and PTI leader Niaz Allah Niazi stated that the constitution allows for elections within 90 days, and going beyond that is unconstitutional. Niaz Allah Niazi mentioned that they will challenge the Election Commission's decision, as it does not appear to function as a constitutional body.
They also emphasized that the authority to set the election date lies with the President of the country. It should be noted that the Election Commission of Pakistan has announced that the general elections will take place in the final week of January and that the preliminary constituency delimitation list will be released on September 27. It has been stated in the announcement that after hearing objections and suggestions regarding the constituency boundaries, the final list will be issued on November 30.
