For the first time, the US government spokesperson has addressed media reports about the meeting between the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, and the US Envoy in Adiala Jail.
According to media reports, during the weekly media briefing, a journalist asked Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the US State Department, about the meeting between the US Ambassador and Imran Khan, who is currently in Adiala Jail.
In response, Miller suggested reaching out to the embassy for accurate information, stating that they could provide more precise details. Miller emphasized that the United States has repeatedly clarified that it does not endorse any specific candidate for political office in Pakistan.
The US has consistently maintained a policy of not intervening in the politics of any country, including Pakistan. He also highlighted that the Pakistani government is in close and constant contact regarding the protection of Afghan citizens awaiting US visas.
