LAHORE: (APP) An advisory committee of the district judiciary of Punjab on Wednesday gave the in-principle approval of judicial officers's transfer policy and diversity policy.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the committee chaired by Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah. Registrar LHC Syed Khurshid Rizvi, LHC Member Inspection Team Muhammad Akmal Khan, District and Sessions judge (D&SJ) Lahore, D&SJ Faisalabad, D&SJ Sahiwal, D&SJ Multan, D&SJ Rawalpindi, D&SJ Chinniot, D&SJ Jhelum, Anti- Terrorism Court Judge Bushra Zaman, Additional District and Sessions Judge (AD&SJ) Shahida Saeed, AD&SJ Ashfaq Ahmad, Senior Civil Judge Syed Ali Abbas , Civil Judge Shazia Munawar Mukhdoom and other members attended the meeting.
The committee discussed transfer policy for judicial officers, diversity policy and draft of Punjab Judicial Services Act 2017, in detail and gave in-principle approval of transfer and diversity policies. However, the LHC chief justice would give the final approval of the policies.
The meeting also appreciated performance of judicial officers over deciding 48,025 petitions out of 57,544 regarding interim stay orders across Punjab.
