ISLAMABAD: Pakistan wants to integrate CAR states in CPEC

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Trade Khurram Dastgir said that Pakistan is ready to facilitate Central Asian States over transit trade however free trade agreement can play an important role to promote regional trade activities.

 

While addressing a seminar regarding Pak-Afghan trade in Islamabad here at Tuesday he said that it is the top priority of the government to promote regional trade. Khurram Dastgir added that Pakistan wants to integrate CAR states in China Pakistan Economic Corridor project.

 

Afghan trucks have been given access to Karachi and Wagah Border by government and now government is also taking measures to register the movement of goods and men at Chaman, Torkham border.

 

Both countries have agreed to regulate the movement of Pak-Afghan trucks according to TIR Convention. Pakistan is also working to extend transit trade to Central Asian States. Minister added.

 

Speaking at the occasion Minister for Privatization Commission Muhammad Zubair suggested to establish an institution to regulate Pakistan transit trade and to provide all facilities for the movement of trucks.
