BRUSSELS: Travel Chaos in Europe as European Union cuts Road, Rail and Air Links with Brussels because of security alert after the deadly bomb blast in EU and NATO headquarters.
The security has been tightened and city was locked down completely and shutdown its airport, metro system, buses trains and railway stations in order to avoid further loss.
Brussels public transport operator STIB tweeted “Our whole network is closed at the moment.”
Belgian news agency said “Surveillance is stepped up with added security measures at nuclear plants. Vehicles are being checked with police and army on the sight.”
“Following the incident in Brussels today we can confirm that Eurostar services are currently suspended on the Brussels route. Public transport in and around Brussels is also severely disrupted,” Eurostar said in a statement.
A series of 7 blasts killed at least 14 people at airport and 20 at metro station and injured hundreds.
The incident happened just days after the arrest of Paris attacks master mind.
ISIS has claimed the responsibility of the attacks.
