ISLAMABAD: Balochistan government has planned to modernize the land revenue information system in a bid to increase revenue in the province.
Talking to APP, a senior official of the provincial government on Sunday said the government would also be initiating a comprehensive programme to install online taxation system in excise and taxation department of the province.
He said the provincial government would also sign an agreement with the State Bank of Pakistan and One Link to collect service tax besides other taxes.
No doubt, he mentioned that the initiative would not only help taxpayers rather it would bring transparency in the system.
He added that the provincial excise department had been making laws to accelerate tax collection from real estate and rental sectors.
The Provincial Department of Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control was considering the proposal of computerized number plates of vehicles and would also bring sustainable reforms in the anti- narcotics sector, he informed.
The government had intentions to digitalize the transport sector of the province with a cost of Rs 70 million to latest trends and requirements, he said adding that with the completion of the project of the sector’s economy would expand the returns from Rs 12 million to Rs 1.5 billion.
The government had established Reconciliation Unit in the finance department for the monitoring of the expenses and income of the province, he said. “With the collaboration of National Data Base Registration Authority (NADRA) the finance department has initiated verification of the government employees.
And also attached the national identity card data with their payroll data to find out the ghost and dual job holder employees in the province,” he informed.
