China Russia and Iran show of naval power in the Indian Ocean

China, Russia and Iran began third joint naval drills in the north of Indian Ocean today [Friday] aimed at boosting marine security.

Iran's state TV said, eleven of its vessels have joined with three Russian ships including a destroyer and two Chinese vessels.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard also participated with smaller ships and helicopters. The purpose of the drill is to strengthen security and its foundations in the region and to expand multilateral cooperation between the three countries.
